The Microtech Scarab Out The Front Automatic Knife

Microtech is one of the top producers of automatic knives and they specialize in OTF (out the front) knives. One of their best selling knives for the Military specialists is the Scarab and for good reason. The Scarab (named after the Scarab beetle) is a great tactical field operations double action automatic knife that was essentially modeled after the Ultratech, Microtech's original double action OTF.

Handle

Being a beefier version of the Ultratech, the Scarab is made for tactical operations and even features grip tape inlay on the 6061 T6 aluminum handle. The handle measures 4.6" and is slightly wider than the Ultratech making it a very nice fit in the hand.

The dual action thumb slide is located on the side of the handle and is made from bead blast stainless steel. All hardware is bead blast finished to match and the pocket clip features a scarab beetle logo to represent the knife's namesake. Atop the pocket clip is a carbide tip glass breaker or skull crusher if you so desire.

The newest 2014 QD Scarab features port holes in the end of the handle similar to the Navy Scarab models.

Blade

The Microtech Scarab blade features a 3.5" Elmax stainless steel double edge and single edge drop point style blade. The blade comes in all finishes and features a serial number, date of manufacture, Microtech logo and QD Scarab written above the logo.
